what is CBT and What issues can it help with?

1

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical, evidence-based therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact. CBT supports you to develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.

CBT can be helpful for anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, panic, OCD, trauma-related difficulties, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck.

How does CBT work?

2

CBT is usually structured and goal-focused. Together, we explore current difficulties, identify unhelpful thinking or behaviour patterns, and practice new coping strategies. You may be encouraged to try small exercises between sessions to support progress.

How long does CBT last?

3

CBT is usually short- to medium-term. Many clients attend between 6–20 sessions, depending on their needs and goals. This is reviewed regularly.
